Brad Pitt is to produce a film about the TT

Filming of the Isle of Man TT will begin this year for a film based on the event set to be shown on Amazon.

The feature film, called Isle of Man, features Hollywood star Channing Tatum, while Brad Pitt will act as a producer.

The project, capturing the thrills of the Isle of Man TT, would be accompanied by a documentary series called the Greatest Show on Earth, for which the filming was undertaken at the 2024 event.

Although full details of either project have not been shared, production activity for Amazon MGM Studio's feature film would begin at this year's event, to create an "authentic backdrop" for the film, race organisers have said.

Event organisers said the production represented a "rare opportunity" to translate the event's "scale, challenge and authenticity for global entertainment audiences, while reinforcing the TT's status as one of the most compelling stories in motorsport".

During the 2023 TT Races, fans spotted 21 Jump Street and Magic Mike star Channing Tatum, where he met with several riders and teams and took in action from around the course, sparking hopes that a film on the event could be on the cards.

Plans for the production were later revealed during the 2024 races.

Sarah Maltby, political member with responsibility for motorsport and tourism, said the TT had always been one of the island's "greatest assets" as a "world class event with a unique identity and international appeal".

The two entertainment projects had the potential to "create lasting value, supporting destination awareness, strengthening our global profile, and helping more people discover what makes the Isle of Man so special", she added.

Paul Phillips, Department for Enterprise's head of motorsport, said: "The reach of a project like this goes far beyond motorsport. It creates a new opportunity for the Isle of Man and a chance to connect the TT, and the place that makes it possible, with entirely new audiences around the world."

Filming during the 2026 event would be managed closely with event organisers to ensure race operations, safety and the experience of competitors, officials, residents and fans remain the priority throughout.
