Woman hit by car suffers life-threatening injuries

An 18-year-old woman has suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Sheffield.

Emergency services were called to Upper Hanover Street just before 00:30 BST on Monday, after a Honda Civic collided with a pedestrian.

South Yorkshire Police said the young woman remained in hospital and appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Upper Hanover Street was closed following the incident but has now been reopened.
