'Extraordinary' father-of-four died in crash

The family of an "extraordinary" father-of-four who died in a crash on the A15 in Lincolnshire has paid tribute to him.

Zack Mitchell, 42, died at the scene of the collision at Silk Willoughby, near Sleaford, at about 05:40 BST on 15 July, Lincolnshire Police said.

Zack's family described him as "humble, thoughtful, practical and fiercely loyal".

"His loss is devastating and impossible to put into words," his family said. "He will be sorely missed, but he will never be forgotten."

Zack had been with his wife, Claire, for 19 years and had four young children whom he "adored beyond measure".

"He was also a cherished son, a much-loved younger brother and a proud uncle to his nephews and nieces," his family added.

"His smile was infectious, his humour was legendary and his ability to lift the spirits of those around him was one of his greatest gifts."

Zack's family described him as an "extraordinary" father.

"He was patient, encouraging, present and fun," they said. "He celebrated every achievement of his children, no matter how big or small."

He loved fishing trips, bike rides, paddleboarding and watching Leeds United.

Zack was born partially deaf and wore hearing aids from an early age. He learnt to lip read by the age of three.

"He never allowed adversity to define him or limit his ambitions," his family said.

"Through hard work, resilience and positivity, he built a life filled with achievement, friendship, family and purpose."

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: "Our thoughts remain with Claire, their four children, Zack's parents, his brother, nieces, and nephews, and all those whose lives were enriched by knowing him."
