Dales Park primary school remained closed following the blaze on Friday

Investigations are taking place following a fire at a Peterhead school which has forced it to be closed.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sent four appliances to Dales Park Primary, in the town's Berryden Road, at about 03:00.

About 20 firefighters took almost an hour to bring the blaze under control. There were no reported casualties, and crews remained at the scene until about 08:00.

Aberdeenshire Council said investigations were ongoing. Parents have been told the school will have to remain closed "throughout next week".
