Man held on suspicion of abducting 15-year-old girl

A man has been arrested on suspicion of abducting a 15-year-old girl in a Greater Manchester suburb.

The alleged incident took place on Bradgate Road in Bowdon, Altrincham, at about 19:00 BST on Monday.

A 56‑year‑old man was held in the early hours of Tuesday morning on Manchester Road, in Knutsford, Greater Manchester Police said.

The force added that specialist officers were supporting the girl and her family.

There was no wider risk to the public, the force said, and further updates would be provided "when appropriate".
