Three people were taken to hospital following a four-vehicle crash on the M5 earlier, police have said.

They are being treated for injuries that are not believed to be serious, Avon and Somerset Police said.

Traffic has cleared following severe delays. Ten miles of congestion had built up on the northbound side after the collision in North Somerset between junction 19 and junction 18.

National Highways said there were delays of 90 minutes, with queues stretching back past Portishead and Clevedon.
