Four attempted murder arrests after two stabbed

Four men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two men were stabbed in Derby.

Derbyshire Police said there was a fight involving two groups of men in Ramshaw Way in the Stockbrook area of the city at about 20:30 BST on Wednesday.

The force said two men were taken to hospital with stab wounds. Officers said one man, 34, suffered life-threatening injuries but was now described as being in a stable condition and added a 19-year-old man sustained injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

Police said four men, 53, 21, 25 and 21, had been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remained in police custody.

Officers said they understood "incidents of this nature will cause concern within the community and we have stepped up patrols in the area".

The force said members of the public may also see an increased police presence at the scene whilst officers carry out their inquiries.

It added it was appealing for any witnesses who saw what happened or anyone who has any further information to come forward.
