Boy, 11, and man hurt in suspected accidental poisoning

An 11-year-old boy and a man have been taken to hospital after a suspected accidental poisoning.

Emergency services were called to a concern for welfare on Carter Street, Hyde, at about 20:10 BST on Tuesday, Greater Manchester Police said.

The condition of the boy and the man, who is in his 40s, is not yet known. The BBC has contacted North West Ambulance Service.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, who also attended the scene, said: "The incident involved two casualties affected by an unknown substance. Fire crews made the scene safe and remained at the scene just over two hours."
