Positive and more light-hearted stories have been making the news over the last week

With so many serious stories making the headlines, the news can sometimes feel overwhelming - but there are still uplifting moments to be found in the West Midlands, and we want to celebrate and share them.

This week we spotted how wildlife has slowly started to reclaim a former Staffordshire coal mine, also a rose named after David Beckham and a police pup visiting a care home.
