Attempted murder arrest after man shot in head

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a 28-year-old man was shot in the head in Bradford.

Armed officers were called to Gaythorne Road in West Bowling at about 23:00 BST last Wednesday. The victim remains in a critical condition in hospital, West Yorkshire Police confirmed.

A 35-year-old man from Bradford was arrested on Saturday evening in Ipswich, and was returned to West Yorkshire, the force said.

Detectives are still seeking 24-year-old Luqman Khan, also from Bradford, in connection with the investigation. Khan is believed to have travelled to Suffolk and was thought to be in the Ipswich or Felixstowe areas.

Three other men, aged 21, 34 and 36, were arrested in Ipswich on Saturday evening on suspicion of assisting an offender. They have since been released on police bail.

A 27-year-old man, who was previously arrested in Ipswich on suspicion of assisting an offender, and a 25-year-old man, who was previously arrested in Bradford on suspicion of assisting an offender, have also since been released on bail.

Police renewed their appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
