A motorcyclist has died in a single-vehicle crash near to a holiday cottage in Leek.

Emergency services were called to a scene close to the Mermaid Inn, in Blake Mere, at 09.45 GMT on Sunday.

Paramedics pronounced the man, in his 60s, dead at the scene. Staffordshire Police said his next of kin had been informed and were being supported by the force.

Officers are appealing for information about the incident and are asking anyone with dash cam footage to come forward.
