Organisers 'truly sorry' for cancelling festival

Organisers of a music festival say they are "truly sorry" for cancelling the event which had already been postponed.

Existance Festival was due to take place at Boldridge Farm in Tetbury, Gloucestershire from 3-6 September after being postponed in June due to "compliance issues".

The festival was given the green light in August but organisers said it would not go ahead because of several issues, including the "very late" licence approval.

In a post on social media last week, the team behind Existance Festival said it would instead take place between 10-13 June 2027.

Existance Festival received the licence approval on condition a traffic management plan was put in place along with adequate fire safety measures.

But the festival said the lateness of the licence approval, a fire over the summer and "issues with the supply of key infrastructure" meant the September arrangements were no longer viable.

"We have looked at a number of different ways around these problems, but ultimately we have reached the point where proceeding would mean compromising the festival and the experience we have promised you," organisers said.

Existance Festival also apologised to ticketholders who had booked time off and arranged travel to the event.

It said those who have bought tickets would be able to use them for the new dates in June and those who are unable to attend would be entitled to a refund.

Existance - a Psytrance festival - had expected up to 2,000 people to attend the event.

The festival had previously been held near Malmesbury in Wiltshire but was forced to relocate due to noise levels - something event organisers blamed on a contractor.
