Voting closes in by-election for eastern parish
MANX SCENESVoting has closed in a by-election to fill two vacant seats on a local authority in the eastern parish of the Isle of Man.
Three candidates - James Curtis, James Hewison and Richard Taylor – who were vying to represent the Lonan Ward of Garff Commissioners.
Polling stations at Baldrine Methodist Hall and the Laxey Working Men's Institute were open for 12 hours, closing at 20:00 BST.
There are a total of nine seats on the board, split into three wards covering Laxey, Lonan and Maughold.
The election was triggered by the resignations of Tim Kenyon and Stewart Clague in January.
