Man seriously injured in attack by armed pair

Police say the attack took place in Sissons Road, Middleton, on Friday

A man has been left seriously injured after being attacked by two men armed with bladed weapons in Leeds.

The victim was attacked by the men, who had arrived at the scene by car, in Sissons Road, Middleton, between 18:30 BST and 19:00 BST on Friday, police said.

The 22-year-old man, from Leeds, was taken to hospital for injuries thought to be serious but not life-threatening, according to a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson.

The suspects, who fled the scene, were described as black, and one was believed to have been wearing a facemask, they added.

Anyone with information about what happened was asked to contact West Yorkshire Police.
