Thousands of Manchester City fans have turned out to watch an emotional Blues' open-top bus parade to mark this season's success and to say farewell to Pep Guardiola after a decade at the club.

Guardiola is leaving after 10 seasons in charge of the men's side, which has seen him lift 17 major trophies including the Premier League Cup and FA Cup.

Supporters also said farewell to legendary players Bernardo Silva and John Stones.

Avid city fans Josh and Carla said the celebrations for the silverware - which included the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, the Women's Super League trophy and the FA Youth Cup - was "bittersweet" as they were saying goodbye to Guardiola's glory days.

It was a sea of City scarves and flags throughout the parade route, which started at the Northern Quarter and finished at the Colin Bell Stand reception at the Etihad Stadium.

Meanwhile, more than 19,000 fans attended a separate event - The After Party - held at Co-op Live near the Etihad Stadium where players from the women's, men's and academy teams celebrated this season's successes.

Oasis's Noel Gallagher was among the stars at the party and got a rapturous response from the fans when he took to the stage and lifted the FA Cup trophy.

Fans were saying their farewells to Guardiola, as well as two other club legends Bernardo Silva and John Stones who are leaving.

Former City defender Nedum Onuoha was at the event and told BBC Radio Manchester Pep Guardiola's legacy as a coach "goes far beyond just City".

"People have fallen in love with City because of how the Guardiola era has gone," Onuoha said.

Another former City player Paul Dickov talked at the After Party about how Guardiola was "big shoes to fill" after 10 hugely successful years.

However, he said everything at the club, from the chairman to the head of recruitment, was "set up for success".

"When we lost Vincent Kompany, and then we lost Fernandinho, Sergio Aguero, David Silva - it was the end of the world, and somehow we replaced them and got better, and still won more trophies," he said.

"The club is so well run from top to bottom, there's plans in place to replace whoever is leaving.

"People are already making comparisons to when Sir Alex Ferguson left Manchester United, or when Arsene Wenger left Arsenal, and they did struggle.

"The one thing I will say, the structure of this football club is the best, and it's completely different from anywhere else, top to bottom.

"It's big shoes to fill, but it should be easier than Sir Alex because everything here is set up for success."

Addressing his exit, the six-time Premier League winner Guardiola has said: "Don't ask me the reasons I'm leaving.

"There is no reason, but deep inside, I know it's my time. Nothing is eternal, if it was, I would be here. Eternal will be the feeling, the people, the memories, the love I have for my Manchester City."

When he was asked about any advice for his successor, the departing manager said: "Be yourself, be free, go with your ideas. Work a lot and everything will be fine."
