Murder inquiry 'stood down' after post-mortem result
BBCA murder investigation has been "stood down" due to the findings of a post-mortem examination on a man who was found in a bush, police say.
Leicestershire Police said officers were called at about 20:00 BST on Thursday after a man in his 40s was found dead in Castle Gardens, Leicester.
The force said on Friday morning a murder inquiry was under way but later said it had been concluded the man died as a result of a "suspected medical episode".
A 46-year-old woman and a 79-year-old man, both from Leicester, who were arrested on suspicion of murder, have been released from custody with no further action taken, officers added.
Police had cordoned off an address in Beaumont Leys as part of the investigation.
Det Insp Lorna Granville, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, said: "Fast-time actions carried out following the call to the force have determined that the man died as a result of a suspected medical episode.
"I'd like to thank the officers involved for their work overnight and today, and to the public for understanding our need to close Castle Gardens while our inquiries were carried out."
The force will now conduct an investigation on behalf of HM Coroner, which will aim to understand the circumstances that lead to his death.
