Child, 7, 'critical' following collision between bicycle and car

A seven-year-old boy is in a critical but stable condition in hospital following a road traffic collision in Coleraine.

Police said the boy had been riding his bicycle when he was involved in a collision with a black Volkswagen Scirocco in the Warnocks Lane area at about 18:40 on Sunday.

Emergency services attended the scene and the boy was taken to hospital.

Warnocks Lane was closed in both directions for a time but has since reopened.

Police said enquiries were continuing to establish what happened and appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
