A man has denied murdering his 23-year-old partner at her flat in the north of Glasgow.

Alexander, 54, is on trial at the High Court in Glasgow accused of killing Brodie MacGregor in August 2024.

Prosecutors claim Brennan punched and slapped MacGregor, and repeatedly struck her with glass bottles - some of which were broken.

He is also accused of hitting her with a microwave plate and inflicting blunt force trauma injuries by means unknown.

Brennan also faces a charge of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

This includes an accusation that he got rid of bloodstained jeans in a clothing collection bin, also in Springburn.

It is claimed Brennan did this in a bid to "conceal evidence" and "avoid arrest" for the crime.

He is separately accused of assaulting MacGregor before the alleged killing.

Brennan denies all the charges.

The trial, before Lord Scott, continues.
