Fourth person charged after attack on ship crew
BBCA fourth person has been charged following an attack on ship workers near Avonmouth Docks.
Avon and Somerset Police said three men, all from the Philippines, were assaulted on 31 July during an attack involving a large group of people at Richmond Terrace, Avonmouth, near Bristol.
Two workers needed hospital treatment as a result of injuries sustained during the attack and, while one has been sent home, another remains seriously ill in hospital.
Kayleigh Coates, 39, from north Bristol, has been charged with two counts of assault causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) and a racially-aggravated public order offence. She was released on conditional bail and is due to appear in court on 22 October.
Three people have previously been charged.
Kurtis Ranklin, 45, of Southmead, and Preston Stabb, 18, of Shirehampton, have both been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and were remanded in custody.
Stabb was also charged with assault by beating.
A 17-year-old male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has also been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) against one of the ship workers, and was released on conditional bail.
Their next hearing is due to take place at Bristol Crown Court on 30 September.
