The completion of work on two roundabouts in Hull has been delayed until next March.

The city council had anticipated the work on the roundabout near Ennerdale Leisure Centre and on the Wawne Road/Bude Road roundabout in Bransholme being completed by the end of this year.

The council said the change of plan was due to a "combination of delays to utility diversion works and additional utility requirements".

The projects include improving cycling facilities and installing new pedestrian crossings.

Mark Ieronimo, the portfolio holder for transport and infrastructure, said: "The council appreciates the disappointment of motorists and the travelling public that these works will take longer to complete than initially planned.

"The delays are largely outside of our control, so we absolutely share the frustration and will do all we can to minimise any additional disruption that may be caused."
