Police investigating an assault in Bradford that left a man with critical injuries have arrested two more men on suspicion of attempted murder.

Officers were called to Brompton Road just after 21:00 BST on Saturday to reports a man had been injured with weapons during a fight in the street.

The 59-year-old victim, who suffered a serious head injury, remains in hospital in a critical condition, West Yorkshire Police said.

Officers have arrested a 41-year-old man who remains in custody, and a 45-year-old man who has been released without charge.

On Sunday, a 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 36-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding. They have both been released on bail.

Police said a black car arrived at the scene, and a man got out of the vehicle and assaulted the victim, with other parties then joining the affray.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has footage was urged to contact the force.
