Tangled fox rescued from football goal net

Firefighters have rescued a fox found tangled and trapped in a football goal net.

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the sports pitch in Halsey Road, Kempston.

It said crews used small tools to carefully release the animal, which was not injured.

"If you come across an injured, trapped or distressed animal, please contact the RSPCA or your local wildlife rescue centre for advice," the service said.

In a social media post, it added: "Every animal rescue is assessed on a case-by-case basis to ensure the safest and most appropriate response."
