Anton Du Beke's little-known Wolverhampton link
BBC/Guy LevyStrictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke said he is "very excited" to return to Wolverhampton after revealing his little-known history with the city.
The dancer and television star opened up ahead of his festive show, Anton At Christmas, which he will be performing at University of Wolverhampton at The Halls on 16 December.
The Black Country city became a memorable part of his rise to ballroom stardom as he used to make repeated trips there for his first bespoke tailsuit.
"I got my first ever tailsuit from Wolverhampton years ago from a tailor who used to make tailsuits for ballroom dancers," he told BBC Radio WM.
Du Beke added: "I drove all the way to Wolverhampton and had the suit fitted and made over a period of a few weeks, so I'm very familiar with [the city] and have been there many times since."
As he makes preparations ahead of his Christmas show, he explained it will be packed with festive classics and modern hits.
The Strictly Come Dancing judge told BBC Radio WM: "We're going to go from The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole and The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, all the way up to Kelly Clarkson, Mariah Carey and as much as we can get in between, it's going to be epic."
The tour runs from 10 to 22 December with stops in Watford, Oxford, Liverpool, London, Nottingham, Bournemouth and Brighton.
The star has also set his sights on a Christmas number one hit and is set to release Dance My Way to Christmas on 6 November.
"I can't wait, it's something I've wanted to do forever and I finally did it," he said.
The song has been described as having an old swing style with a modern twist.
Du Beke previously released a 2017 album, From The Top, which included covers of classics including Puttin' On The Ritz, Fly Me To The Moon and It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year.
