Trains back to normal after track fire near Gatwick

Trains running between Gatwick Airport and Purley are no longer subject to delays following a fire next to the track between the two stations on Tuesday morning.

Gatwick Express said on social media that "disruption caused by this incident has now ended" and that delays caused by the fire are now over.

The provider, alongside both Thameslink and Southern, had earlier urged passengers to allow extra time for journeys.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.
