Overturned lorry causes delays on A453 near airport

An overturned lorry has led to "significant disruption" on the A453 near East Midlands Airport.

Emergency services were at the scene of the incident at Finger Farm Island near Castle Donington at about 08:00 BST.

National Highways confirmed the road was shut southbound from the A6 for Kegworth and the A42 while the HGV was being recovered.

Bus operator Trentbarton said both of its Skylink airport services were affected.

The company said: "We know this will be frustrating for customers travelling to and from the airport, Gateway and surrounding businesses, and we're sorry for the disruption."
