Council to take over Stagecoach's Wick and Thurso operation

Highland Council is taking over Stagecoach's Wick and Thurso bus operation.

The local authority said the acquisition would see all of the company's 26 staff in Caithness transfer to its D&E Coaches business.

The deal is expected to be finalised on 19 October.

D&E Coaches will then run local services - including school transport, private hire contracts and services to the Dounreay nuclear site.
