Murder charge after body pulled from canal in 2020

Police have charged a suspect with the murder of a man whose body was found in a canal more than five years ago.

Darren Round, 48, had suffered facial injuries before ending up in the water near Masshouse Lane, Kings Norton, in February 2020.

Investigators arrested Cain Watson, 32, at an address in Birmingham on Wednesday, and he is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Mr Round's family were being supported by officers, West Midlands Police said.
