Family pay tribute to 'cherished' victim of house fire

A man who died in a house fire has been described by his family as someone who "brought so much joy, love, and laughter into our lives".

The fire, in the roof of a home on Ronsons Close in Cowes, Isle of Wight, broke out on 26 June just after 03:30 BST and spread to neighbouring properties.

Paying tribute to Lucas Scutt, 24, his family said he was a cherished son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend". They added: "We are also mourning the loss of his beloved pets, who also passed away alongside him."

Three men remain on bail after being arrested on suspicion of murder and arson with intent to endanger life - two 24-year-olds from Cowes and a 28-year-old man from Ventnor.

The fire spread to neighbouring properties in Ronsons Close, Cowes

About 30 firefighters brought the fire under control after it spread to neighbouring homes, with residents led to safety.

Anyone with information or relevant footage from doorbell, dashcam or CCTV is urged to contact police.
