Running group for teen girls gets second location

A running group supporting teenage girls is expanding its programme with a new location.

See Her Run, a Jersey-based group set up for girls in school years 9 to 13, will now host its Thursday sessions from Les Quennevais Sports Centre.

Organisers said the twice-weekly group, which launched in 2024, would also continue to run its Tuesday sessions form the Sail Statue near the Radisson Blu in St Helier.

Founder and chairwoman Ceri Tinley said the run was "safe and supportive" and its new location would allow girls who live in the west of the island to have easy access to join.

The group, which has more than 40 members and 14 trained volunteers, also launched the She Starts Here course designed for non-runners in 2025.

"We were thrilled with the response to our She Starts Here programme," said Tinley.

"We're now expanding our programme by launching a second location, enabling even more girls to discover the joy of running."

The new season kicks off with a scavenger fun run on Tuesday 15 September.
