Motorist 'intentionally crashed into e-scooter'

A motorist "intentionally" crashed into an e-scooter leaving its rider needing hospital treatment, police have said.

Lancashire Police said the crash in New Chapel Street, Blackburn, at 14:00 BST on Friday, was being investigated as an assault.

The force said the e-scooter rider, a man in his 50s, suffered a wrist injury after being hit by a Silver Vauxhall Insignia. No arrests have been made and police have appealed for any witnesses or dashcam footage.

A police spokesperson said: "We want to stress that this is being treated as an isolated incident and there is no threat to the wider public."
