Swansea City captain Ben Cabango has been banned from driving for six months after admitting using a mobile phone while driving.

The Wales football international pleaded guilty to using a handheld mobile device while driving a motor vehicle, after driving a BMW in Swansea on 9 January.

He admitted the charge without having to attend court, responding to it through the single justice procedure at Swansea Magistrates' Court.

Cabango, 26, from Penmark, Vale of Glamorgan, will lose his licence for six months, under the totting up procedure, after being given six points.

He was told to pay a total of £1,016 - consisting of a £640 fine, £256 victim surcharge and £120 prosecution costs.
