Restaurant hoping for second Michelin star
BBCA Michelin star restaurant has high hopes for another star - but said it was "not something that is going to happen overnight".
Vraic opened in the summer of 2025, becoming Guernsey's only Michelin-starred restaurant in February this year.
Executive chef Nathan Davies said he would like to gain a second star in the next "five to eight years" but said it was "not something that has ever been done in Guernsey before".
He said he hoped the success of the restaurant would help raise the culinary bar of the island, encouraging more visitors to come to Guernsey.
"People will then look at us as a food destination place – we have beautiful places to go, to stay, to eat, to drink," Davies said.
The restaurant, whose client base is predominantly tourists, features in the second series of Apple TV's Knife Edge.
The show follows chefs hoping to be awarded a Michelin star.
Speaking to BBC Radio Guernsey, Davies said it was "a great thing to celebrate Guernsey" and he hoped the latest TV coverage would help increase visitors to the island.
"There will be people watching in the States that don't even know the Channel Islands in their entirety exist, especially Guernsey," he said.
"Hopefully they'll not only come and eat with us but they will come and enjoy the place."
