Teenager arrested after cyclist killed in crash
GoogleA teenage girl has been arrested following a fatal collision between a car and a cyclist on Friday night.
The crash occurred at around 22:15 BST on the A4440 Swinesherd Way in Worcester, involving a white Suzuki Swift and a man on a pedal cycle.
A man in his 60s, who was the cyclist, sustained serious injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene.
The driver of the car, a 17-year-old girl, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and is currently helping police with inquiries, West Mercia Police said.
The Suzuki had been travelling along the A4440 from the junction of Whittington Road onto Swinesherd Way, towards the junction of the A44 when the collision happened.
West Mercia Police is asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision, who may have seen the vehicles or may have dashcam footage, to get in touch with them.
