Owners of the DeLorean car - popularised by the 1985 film Back to the Future - have gathered at Stormont to celebrate the 45-year anniversary of the vehicle.

The DeLorean was built in Dunmurry during the 1980s and was designed by American John DeLorean.

David Abraham, one of the organisers of the event, said the car has a "special place in peoples' heart because it brought hope in a time of no hope during Troubles".

There were almost 150 cars at the event.

Abraham, who owns a DeLorean, said people from as far as Australia had travelled for the event, and described fellow owners of the famous car as "not just friends, but brothers".
