Plans have been drawn up for a new community hub, to replace one which has become too expensive to maintain.

Telford and Wrekin Council said the Hub on the Hill in Sutton Hill was in need of "significant repairs" and it was more cost effective to build a two storey building to take its place.

It said the new building could have space for sports and events, a cafe, a library and a "health hub" for health checks, mobile screening, vaccinations, and outpatient appointments.

The council has also proposed an improved outside space, with the possibility of an outdoor gym and a community garden.

If planning permission is granted, the council said it hoped to have the new community centre open by 2028.

It also said people living in the area would be asked what they would like to see inside the building.

Lee Carter, the leader of the council, said it was "time to redevelop this facility to create a new focal point for Sutton Hill".
