Part of a main road in Shropshire is to close for five days to allow for resurfacing works to be completed.

The A41 in Whitchurch is to be resurfaced from Tilstock roundabout to Wrexham roundabout, from 18 to 22 May, Shropshire Council said.

Signed diversions will be in place, it added, with the road closed from 09:30 to 16:00 BST while the works were being carried out.

Access is due to be maintained for residents living within the closure zone, as well as emergency vehicles, and people are being asked to ensure their vehicles are not parked on the road.

A spokesperson for the council added all planned roadworks were subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
