One seriously injured following house fire

One person has suffered serious injuries in a house fire in Derby.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was alerted to the blaze in Baseball Drive, Normanton, at 09:03 BST on Thursday.

One person was taken to hospital with injuries that were serious but not life-threatening, the service said, while two others suffered minor injuries and three were treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.

Fire crews remained at the scene on Thursday afternoon with all persons now accounted for.
