Bomb disposal called in after suspicious item discovered in Edinburgh
BBCA bomb disposal team has been called in after a suspicious item was found in Edinburgh.
A number of properties have been evacuated and a cordon set up following the discovery in Restalrig Avenue late on Monday afternoon.
The road has been closed between Loganlea Avenue and Loganlea Drive which has affected the number 25 bus route and led to diversions.
Emergency services are in attendance alongside Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and people have been urged to avoid the area.
Lothian Buses said buses normally going to Loganlea Drive and Restalrig Avenue were instead being diverted via Craigentinny Avenue, Portobello Road and Wakefield Avenue and were terminating at Craigentinny Road until further notice.
