Pedestrian seriously injured in hit-and-run crash

A pedestrian has suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run crash near Bradford, police said.

The crash happened at 08:10 BST on Monday, on Thornton Road in Thornton, where a dark blue Audi S3 hit a pedestrian who was crossing the road.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital with serious head and arm injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said the driver of the Audi had failed to stop at the scene and headed in the direction of Bradford.
