Severn Trent said it had fixed damage caused by a third party

Damage to a pipe that caused water to spurt into the air near Nether Heage has been fixed.

Severn Trent said the damage had been accidentally caused by a third party.

Michelle Gascoigne, 54, of Nether Heage, said another villager had spotted "the fountain" at about 08:00 BST on Thursday.

At about 20:00, a spokesperson for Severn Trent said damage to the pipe had been fixed, adding no customer supplies had been affected.
