A family have paid tribute to a "much-loved" father who died after being hit by a car in Fife.

Steven Dick, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene on Lumphinnans Road, Lochgelly, at about 01:30 on Saturday. The incident involved a black Volkswagen Golf.

The 28-year-old male driver of the car was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and inquiries are ongoing, Police Scotland said.

Steven's family said he would be greatly missed in a statement released through the force.

The road was closed for a number of hours while officers carried out an investigation and reopened at about 07:50.

In the statement, Steven's family said: "Steven was a much-loved father, son and brother, who will be missed by all those who were close to him and knew him."

Sgt Tom Aitken said inquiries were continuing and appealed for anyone with information or dashcam footage to get in touch.
