Richie Anderson was seriously injured in a crash at Flackwell Heath Moto Park in High Wycombe last month

A 23-year-old cyclist who died after a crash on a motocross track has been named by a coroner.

Richie Anderson, a former Margate FC youth player, was seriously injured during an open session at Flackwell Heath Moto Park in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, on 19 September. He died two days later.

In a social media post, the venue said Anderson, who was at the track every weekend, "had such a genuine, kind nature that you couldn't help but like him".

An inquest into his death is due to open at Buckinghamshire Coroner's Court in Beaconsfield on 2 November.

Anderson died at John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington, Oxford, on 21 September.

Since his death, the Moto Park has remained closed, although its owners said they hoped to reopen soon.

In a statement, Anderson's former football club said he would "always be part of the Margate FC family" and that losing someone "who has been part of that journey is incredibly difficult".

It added that Anderson had grown up wearing the Margate shirt and represented its youth teams throughout the age groups.

The club said he would be remembered as a "kind, hardworking person".
