Delayed bid for 15 homes recommended for approval
GoogleA delayed proposal to build 15 homes in a mid-Suffolk village has been recommended for approval.
Developer Property Trust hopes to secure permission to build homes in Palmer Street in Walsham-le-Willows between Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk and Diss in Norfolk.
While plans were submitted last year, they were opposed by residents with a number of concerns including existing traffic and parking issues and suitability for emergency and waste services.
Members of Mid Suffolk District Council's planning committee will discuss the application on Wednesday 3 June.
Councillors, who deferred the decision to allow for a site visit, were told in April delays were needed due to the local elections.
So far, the county's highways and waste services team have raised no objections to the plans.
Ahead of the meeting, planning officers have kept their recommendation for approval and warned councillors of a "significant risk" of appeal should they refuse the application.
The Local Democracy Reporting Service said a legal opinion, commissioned by Property Trust, noted the firm would have "no hesitation" advising the applicant to appeal and apply for costs to be covered by the council.
