Two charged after defence firm office vandalised following break-in

Two men have been charged after protesters broke into and vandalised the offices of a defence technology firm in Aberdeenshire.

Police Scotland were called to to the Ultra I&C site on Prospect Road, Westhill, at around 09:40 on Sunday.

Footage posted on social media by activists appeared to show damage and Palestine flags hanging at windows in the building.

A force spokesperson said two suspects, aged 39 and 18, had been arrested and charged, and were expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday.

According to the company's website, it "delivers crypto solutions, mission software and tactical communications built to keep operations moving".

BBC Scotland News has asked Ultra I&C for comment.
