Cricket pitches damaged in 'joyriding' incident
St Austell Cricket ClubA cricket club said two of its pitches had "significant damage" caused in what police have claimed was a "suspected joyriding" incident.
St Austell Cricket Club said at about 18:00 BST on Friday, a silver Fiat Punto had driven on to its grounds and damaged two of the pitch areas before being abandoned.
The club said in a statement that it was an "extremely serious incident" and it would "not tolerate reckless behaviour of this nature" and the "safety of our players, members, volunteers and visitors is always our priority".
Devon and Cornwall Police said the incident was a "suspected joyriding" and an investigation was ongoing.
