Four teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of robbery after a man had his off-road motorcycle stolen at knifepoint.

Nottinghamshire Police said officers were called to Old Mill Crescent, in Newark, at about 20:20 BST on Thursday after the man reported he had been robbed.

Officers said the victim had arranged to sell the motorcycle online and travelled to the meeting point where he was met by a group of teenagers, one of whom threatened him with a knife.

The force said a search of the area was carried out and the motorcycle was spotted in a nearby garden before two 15-year-olds, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old were detained at an address.

Det Con Tristan Millar added: "Being threatened at knifepoint can have a lasting impact on anyone so the victim will be offered support.

"We'd urge people buying and selling items online to make sure they take every possible precaution to avoid becoming a victim of crime."
