A 33-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murdering his 53-year-old father, police have confirmed.

Martin Joseph Ward, from Holyhead, Anglesey, was arrested after the body of Michael Anthony Ward was discovered inside a flat and pronounced dead at the scene in the early hours of 17 October.

He appeared at Llandudno Magistrates' Court on Monday wearing a grey jumper and only spoke to confirm his name, date of birth and that he understood that his case was being transferred to the crown court.

District Judge Gwyn Jones told him he must stay in custody and would next appear before Caernarfon Crown Court on Tuesday.
