Three people have been re-arrested by police investigating the fatal stabbing of a father of three in Manchester, police have said.

A 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of murder, while a 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

All three had previously been arrested and bailed in connection with the death of Adrian Brown, 34, and remain in custody for questioning.

Brown was found with stab wounds to his chest on Raby Street in Moss Side on 8 May and died after being taken to hospital.

The re-arrest of the three suspects came after new information came to light, the force said.

Det Insp Alex Wilkinson said officers had spent almost six months examining eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage to establish what happened.

He said the stabbing took place at the West Indian Sports and Social Club in Moss Side.

In a tribute in May, Brown's mother, Jennifer Meade, said: "I cannot put into words how I feel. They took my boy."

She described him as a "loving son, brother, uncle, boyfriend" who adored being a father.
