A man who died after being attacked in what police have called a "targeted" incident has been named by police.

Rahiem Jackson, 38, was attacked by four people armed with weapons outside a property in New Wortley, Leeds, on Saturday.

In a statement issued through West Yorkshire Police, his family said he had a "beautiful heart and soul", adding: "His smile was so infectious, and he lit up the room with his presence."

Detectives investigating the attack have appealed for witnesses and said they were continuing to carry out "a wide range of inquires".

His family went on to say Rahiem - known as Reema - "would have gone above and beyond for anybody he cared for" and that "a very cowardly, cruel and senseless act of vicious violence" had resulted in his death.

"He wasn't just a brother he was a son, an uncle, a father, a partner, a nephew, a cousin, a grandson, brother-in-law and friend, and he did not deserve to die the way he did," they added.

"We are heartbroken and in so much pain and have been left inconsolable as a family."
