Busy crossroads closed overnight after crash
GoogleA busy crossroads in Leicester was closed overnight after a crash involving a lorry and a car.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the junction of Uppingham Road and Goodwood Road at about 22:15 BST on Wednesday.
A rescue crew and hazardous materials unit attended the scene.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "One casualty was extricated from their vehicle by [East Midlands Ambulance Service] staff before our crews' arrival and was taken to hospital."
The road remained closed overnight and reopened at 05:20 on Thursday, according to Leicestershire Police.
